Lenny has been a commentator on CBS, NBC, WGN and FOX, additionally a columnist to many consumer and professional industry publications including American Spa and Pulse. Industry relationships have included clients such as Nautica, Clairol, Bristol Meyers, Ulta Cosmetics and Four Seasons.
Stephanie Rest is currently based in Washington D.C working as a consultant, collaborating with emerging countries around the world on wellness and spa development projects. Stephanie’s previous experience in the tourism industry is vast. She has led opening teams for resorts and spas since 2001. Stephanie believes in promoting the entrepreneurial-spirit, leadership and service to the community. She was creator and Chair of the first Turks & Caicos Island’s Hospitality Adventures: Spa Camp. She is the CEO and Founder of Caribbean Wellness & Education, that cultivates events and education courses for spa, wellness and tourism professionals. Recently she founded the new initiative and non-profit “Wellness for Children” serving as Vice-chair and sits on the Board of Directors. Recently, she was appointed as Caribbean Regional Director for the “Global Mentorship Program” and also serves as the “Global Wellness Day Ambassador for the Caribbean”. Since 2015, Stephanie has served as an Advisory Board Member for JMPankey Partners, the 7-figure spa consultancy firm. This year CaribbeanWE and the SpaHive announced a collaboration in events and she will serve as a Board Member to the growing community of spa professionals.
A twenty year beauty industry veteran, Nina has cultivated her skills in the spa industry by focusing on spa operations, marketing and social media, training and retail. Nina has worked with top industry consultants helping to bring “ best industry practices” to their clients.. Guiding businesses to increase their productivity and profitability is the most rewarding aspect of being a consultant, empowering owners to reach their business goals. The creative aspect of spa development is her passion. Additionally, Nina is a trained aesthetician and certified laser technician.
Betty Loiacono began her career in the hospitality industry in 1978 as an assistant hotel manager at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Reno, Nev., which was then the largest hotel/casino in the world. She worked in training and development and as guest relations supervisor at Radio City Music Hall in New York and as director of VIP services at the 1982 World’s Fair in Knoxville, Tenn. After three years at Shearson Lehman Brothers/American Express in New York, she re-entered the hospitality industry in 1987 as hotel assistant manager at the Trump’s Castle Hotel & Casino, where she says she learned “grace under fire” by working under the direction of Mrs. Ivana Trump. In 1989 she became Resident Manager / Director of Operations for The Spa at Norwich Inn and eventually segued into the role of Spa Director. Betty was selected to move from the Norwich property to coordinate the re-branding of the Foxwood’s Casino spa as The Norwich Spa at Foxwoods. In August of 2008 she transitioned to the pre-eminent Four Diamond Saybrook Point Inn Spa & Marina in Old Saybrook, CT, where she is The SANNO Spa Director. Betty organized a New England Roundtable of the International Spa Association and served on ISPA’s Marketing Committee. She is a member of the Professional Advisory Committee of the Cortiva Institute formerly known as The Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy. She is a current member of the Board of Directors of SPA HIVE.
Linda Gresham Arthur is based in Indianapolis, IN. Throughout her career, and no matter what her position, Linda’s philosophy has always been to develop meaningful relationships. She has done this with clients and internal partners alike which has helped her to successfully meet objectives while maintaining a high level of satisfaction among her clients and teams. Linda’s passion is to be of service, to make a difference so individuals feel useful, valued, appreciated, and important.
Milana Knowles’ 20-year career spans retail, beauty and spa industries. Milana recently served as Executive Director of Retail and Spa Division at Clarins and before that as Vice President of Sales and Marketing at SpaFinder, General Manager of the Spa Division at Avon, and Vice President of Business Development at The Greenhouse Spa Group. Milana’s career is rooted in beauty retail. Her experience encompasses development of innovative retail within spa, wellness and hospitality environments, business growth through innovative marketing and sales strategies and mindful leadership of inspired, motivated and goal oriented teams. Milana was born in Zagreb, Croatia, where she received BA in English and Italian literature from the University of Liberal Arts. Before moving to the United States Milana completed studies of Italian language at L’universita per Stranieri di Perugia and studies of English literature at Hexagon university in UK. Milana is a member of Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW), International Spa Association (ISPA) and Luxury Marketing Council. She serves on Spa Hive Board of Directors and is one of the leaders of Global Wellness 1000 Days Initiative. She is an active speaker at spa conferences and industry educational seminars
Alison is a graduate of the Elizabeth Grady School of Esthetics and has over 30 years of varied experience. Her passion for our industry has allowed her to manage several salons and spas while leading teams of professionals to their best potential. Her concentration in the past several years has been in education. She served as a director of education, instructor and mentor at the Elizabeth Grady School of Esthetics and Spatech Institute. She has also been training other estheticians in advanced treatments and business solutions at Institute d’Epidermie. She has maintained her own practice locally while developing new professionals in the industry. Alison stays current with the ever changing world of esthetics by continuing to take classes, attending trade shows, participating in webinars and being a member of Associated Skin Care Professionals. She is particularly proud of the certification she received recently for Oncology Esthetics and humbly looks forward to being able to offer services to those going through treatments, warrior survivors and their caretakers.
