Have you ever just breathed a deep sigh of relief because you finally feel like everything is going to be alright? This is one of the many pieces of feedback we received from SpaHive, Washington Metro Area. “I feel like I found my people and I know I’m not alone.” It might sound dramatic, but it’s not. Every SpaHive I facilitate, I get to meet men and women from the spa industry that are struggling. Sometimes it’s a struggle that’s an easy fix and sometimes it takes some time, patience and sometimes even a little elbow grease. No matter the frustration or struggle, there’s one thing that inevitably makes things easier for those attending: knowing they’re not alone.
There’s a certain sense of peace that comes from knowing you’re sitting at a table with 7 other people who are on the same path you are. They know what struggles you’re dealing with in your own spa. We’re a group of people who are…well… human! We’ve gone through trials and come out on top. We’re dealing with our own hurdles. Where one is weak, the other is strong! We’re a community of people cheering each other on and lending a hand where we can. This is the beauty of being a part of the SpaHive.
December 3rd, we had another opportunity to connect with Spa Directors, Owners and Managers across Virginia and the surrounding states. They came to hear Danielle Scott from Hawkins Internation PR Agency speak about how to integrate public relations into their marketing strategy. We all learned the importance of movement and the ability our body has to overcome pain. Participants watched other spa professionals participate in a sort of town hall round-table. We meditated and learned the importance of self-care from Dr. Ajay Tejasvi and we took in enormous amounts of wisdom from Angela Jia Kim of Savor Beauty.
Our SpaHive events give spa decision makers a chance to really connect with brands they can bring into their spa. They get a chance to dig deep, ask important questions without 30 other people vying for the attention of the product representative. As well, all of our community members get a chance to try the products and take home a SpaHive swag bag to continue using the products at home. There’s no better way to know if your spa clients will love a product than using it more than once. We give you the opportunity to do just that.
I’m so grateful to have had Barry Eichner from Lipgloss + Aftershave and India Robinson from Confessions of a Spa Bunny document the whole day through videos, photographs, live videos on social media, interviews and more. They both brought such professionalism and great energy.
While the event itself was absolutely the highlight of the day, I can’t go without mentioning the beautiful resort where we held SpaHive, Washington Metro Area. If you’ve never been to Lansdowne Resort & Spa, it’s a must if you’re in or near the Washington DC area. Having this sprawling, beautiful resort as a backdrop – complete with spa (of course) and golf course – was such an incredible experience. The beautiful holiday decorations and the cozy fire burning in the lobby of the event venue made our space warm and inviting. Having Coton & Rye and Piedmont’s Table right on site made dining for my team and our guests so easy.
Looking back on our event at Leesburg and looking forward to our events in June and September, I’m so grateful for every new connection I’ve made. I look forward to connecting with you really soon! Stay up to date by visiting my SpaHive website to see when tickets are available for upcoming masterminds. Until next time, stay well.
