“How do I use all of these social media sites to generate business for my spa?”
Sound like a question you’ve asked yourself, a colleague or even Google? I hear it nearly every day from my clients and it’s a very valid one. We all want to know that the time we spend using Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, and Google+ is worthwhile. I want to assure you that it is, or that it can be. Instead of thinking “if we build it, they will come”, we’d like to show our clients and spa industry friends a different way of doing things.
JMPankey has created a new resource that empowers you, the spa owner or manager, to use social media to proactively search for new clients. We won’t pretend like there’s no work involved because that wouldn’t be true. That said, the effort required for this feels different because you’re in the driver’s seat instead of on the passenger’s side!
The idea is that you scour the web to find your potential clients. Just like those of us using social media for business purposes, many individuals are just as overwhelmed by all of the available information and options, and they may not know how to find your spa. Or maybe they don’t even know they need your services, but you can tell from the conversations they participate in that they are interested in skincare, a healthy lifestyle or massage services. Once you find them, you engage with them to draw them to your site.
This search method also provides an excellent opportunity to establish your thought leadership. When you join groups and participate in exchanges with other experts, retail brands, individuals, and business owners, your “street cred” increases with potential clients and within the industry in general. It’s WIN/WIN.
