Hard to believe that summer is a month away – it seems we were just planning spring promotions. There is no time like the present to get your summer spa marketing in order and prepare your spa for the summer months. Depending on the location of your spa, it may be a slow or busy time. Destination spas always have events, wedding and a continuous book of guests while others might really feel financial strain. There is no need to stress, preparing and planning some great incentives and promotions is a great way to keep the spring momentum going.
We have selected a few of our top summer promotion ideas for spas:
1. Summer BOGO Event
A special event that only lasts a month and during which spa clients purchase any service over $100 and receive the second one at half price. It’s a great way to keep your clients trying new services and keep your staff busy.
2. Sunless Sun Event
Plan a safe sun event in your spa and for a “special price” spa clients get a safe sunless tan and mani/pedi to get ready for summert. The event should be by invitation only and with limited availability to create a sense of urgency. A great service is Paperless Post, where you can design a beautiful invitation and send via email.
3. Custom Summer Packages
Create 2-3 new summer packages for your spa clients at a special price. For example: Under Arm, Leg and Brazillian Wax package for $75. Make some waxing packages based on your most popular treatments.
4. Create Summer Services
Design a couple of summer services that are only available June through August. Make them so refreshing and delightful that it becomes a client favorite. Think fruits, soothing, restoring and refreshing. Facials that hydrate dehydrated summer skin, body treatments that make skin glow, and pedicures that use fruit scrubs and finish with delicious moisturizers.
5. Summer Retail Promotion/Series Promotion
Have a stock up sale! Offer product incentives to get inventory moving and ready for fall: Buy 2 get third free or Buy one Get one at 50% off. Also, summer is a great time for a series sale on waxing and nail services.
Be as creative as you can. Ask your staff to submit their promotion ideas, and if selected, they receive a $25 Amazon Gift Card or credit towards your retail products. Be sure to make great graphics – Canva is an excellent resource. Be sure to promote through all your social media channels.
